I really liked this! It's gotten mixed reviews, but I found it really enjoyable.

This whole book is just delightful

I am LOVING this - which shouldn't surprise me, because it's Seanan McGuire, but I've been in a major reading slump lately (blame the chaos of the quarter system for frying my brain) and this has snapped me right out of it. Also, Kade is my favorite.

If there is one thing that is consistently true about every Seanan McGuire series, it is that they start out good and get even better as they go along. Each new book is the best so far. (Though Chaos Choreography is probably my personal favorite, this one was fantastic).

In two days, this quarter will be over and I will finally have time to read more than just a couple of pages at a time! It's an exciting prospect.

This was a hell of a lot of fun

So, I now somehow ship Snow White and the elf from the "Elves and the Shoemaker" fairytale. Because McGuire is really good at what she does, and has somehow given them really compelling chemistry. (Also, the Wicked Stepsister is my favorite character).

Finally finished! (This quarter is still insanely busy, though, so God only knows when I'll have more time to read).

This quarter has been so busy that I've barely had time to read anything that wasn't for various classes - but I AM really enjoying this. Even if I'm reading it in tiny bursts in my rare free time.

I know this is nit-picky, but the part of the Bible that mentions Nephilim wasn't ever in "the original Aramaic." It's from Genesis 6. Which was originally in HEBREW. And likely written long before Aramaic was a fully-formed language. A little, teeny bit of research on the part of anybody involved in the creation of this book could've fixed that mistake.

It's no secret that I could never manage to get into the Mortal Instruments books, no matter how many people recommended them to me. I've now been told that I'd probably like these better, and my library has them, so I'm going to give it a shot.

Re-Reading a favorite

Curran, that was the dumbest idea you have ever had. And claiming that it was the only possible thing to do really doesn't help, because I can think of like fifteen other ways you could have handled that just off the top of my head.

Hugh is really strangely endearing. In an evil way.

(Also, this is taking me forever, because finals. Which is frustrating, because I need to find out why Curran thinks this stupid plan of his is a good idea).

Re-Read! (Both because I'm in a re-reading mood, and also because I never finished this series in the first place and don't even really remember what happens. So it's ALMOST like reading it for the first time, but with deja vu).

Re-read. Because I found it in the library on Halloween, and thought werewolves were exactly what I was in the mood for.

Pirate princess is kind of getting on my nerves - and not necessarily because there is anything wrong with her, just that she really doesn't fit in this story. I'm way past ready to get back to the sister-saving primary plot (which hasn't even made an appearance yet).
