Love playing this in the background while I relax. Such interesting history about textiles. We take for granted the relationship with clothing to thr human experience as far back as the Neanderthals. For a long time we assumed they utalized futs and leathers over plant fibers, but St. Clair presented evidance of the very rare preservation of cloth fibers.

It's crazy to think he lived through all this. What I knew of him was already was interesting enough. Feels like opening a time capsule and finding a phylosopher's journal.

This reads like a cute coffee table book. Fashion illustrations laid out with over 20 pages of introduction to the author's system.

I could listen to the history of textiles forever. Should have picked up this book earlier. There was some archeological finds of surviving cloth that I had never heard of. The connection between linen and ancient Egyptian spirituality. Daily rewrapping statues and other spiritual symbols in the finest linens multiplr times a day. It does put into perspective the importance and wealth attached to the burial shroad.

We start out the gate with violence. People getting jumped and kidnapped. Worst nightmare for a guy whose major clients were gansters.
