I’m on a brink of DNF. I can’t connect with the FMC. She’s supposedly 130years old but her mindset is that of a child. The enemies trope feels forced and poorly developed. This far in the book I still don’t care for her well being, don’t care much about the situation and can’t recall any standout moments. The hawk is cool

Oh I’m enjoying it immensely. The science writing is smooth and realistic, the dynamic with himself is amazing, the dynamic with others is fantastic. Can’t wait to finish it

Is that why this book became so popular? The throne-scene look-a-like? It wasn’t bad. But the rest of their interactions are very confusing. Also this book didn’t need to be this long. So many scenes that take us nowhere
