I’ve just finished the daughter and father chapter, and cried. Poor Florence.

Finished Walter’s narrative, really enjoyed it. Wonder how it will continue and I thought, pre-reading, the woman in white refers to sb mysterious, but we clearly know who she is. I wonder what is the mystery, why she ends up in an asylum? Who her father is? I think Walter and Laura will probably end up together, I hope the ey do anyways

Chapter 8, really enjoyed he beginning :)

On chapter 10, not sure about the story, Lucy Snowe doesn’t seem to be a likeable protagonist, she sees all people negatively:S apart from one gentleman :/

Started rereading it, a bit worried I might not enjoy it cos I was so young when first read it, I was still a terrible romantic, so my young mind was just being overthrown by the wild passionate love between H and Cathy, but now being older and more cynical, and enjoy reading likeable characters, I was terribly worried I may end up hating it, but I cried when reading about the ghost of Cathy trying to get in

I’m finally at chapter 16, 3ish hours to go. again I wouldn’t say this is a police detective story. This is just a family drama.

Almost forgot how fun this series is. Hilarious

Chapter 22 I feel really emotional. Nearly cried. He hasn’t aged in all these years mentally, so it’s heartbreaking to see him reuniting with his school friend and wondering why he is old.

Wow 😮 just picked the story up in Waterstones in York while travelling, altho it had been on the TBR for a while, I didn’t realise it was in short story form until I was half way through the first story yesterday, and came to GR to browse at the the comments. But wow, I’ve just finished the second and these two stories are so well written they gave me goosebumps! Looking forward to more

I started again! Now I’ve just finished chapter 23, can’t help but cried for little Charlie and her baby brother and sister.

Is it weird that I’m feeling super emotional listening to this book?! I had tears in my eyes a couple of times in the last few chapters. Awwww what a great story, Hiccup’s really growing very fast

Bit disappointed ☹️ long and winding without seemingly going anywhere.

I normally like the detectives in police procedural novels, but I’m not sure about DCI Rory Grace🥹and although a very intriguing plot, the characters and the development are just so frustrating, I’m not a police in any ways, but are the lines of inquiry really valid? And maybe it’s because of the way it’s written, they don’t seem to care that much about the missing person ;S

Half way through. It did occur to me that might be an option at the start of my reading, but then it went to the back of my mind, pleasantly surprised 😳
