An excellent read so far, Ron Rash does a great job in The Cove taking you into a dark area of NC, one that most will never see but after reading this novel will make you feel you were there, without giving the plot away I will say the emotion, prejudices, family, fear, and work ethic of this war time story are well told, I both look forward to and feel sad that I will be finishing this book soon.

From the first time I saw this title I was thinking this would be a great book for women, I now see this is a book for everyone, I am sure happy I picked it up because missing out on a story this well written would have really been a big mistake for me, I am nearing the conclusion and feel the rest of the book will indeed be as good or better than what I have read so far.

This is my second Ron Rash book and definitely will not be my last, this book is so close to true events of the area that I am drawn in with the feeling of being right there, this is a hard one to put down.
