This is the last book in the checkmate series, and maybe it’s because I’ve read all the books before this one and I’m a little attached to them all BUT this guy is fucking me off right now

I am loving this book right now, Jake is just starting to notice his feelings are changing and is very happy about it and Emily is doing the one thing she knows, helping people.

I'm up to chapter 18 now and I'm the verge of ripping my hair out. The Maddox' are falling apart and I feel like screaming and crying.

Only starting it now after finishing Beautiful Burn. The title alone scares me so I'm slowly bracing myself for what I'm about to read.
