Moving. Reminded me of Braiding Sweetgrass, but this is fiction. Recommend.

3.5. I like the characters but the plotting is a bit transparent.

This was so hard to read because it kept sending me back to the emotional and psychological horrors of the Trump presidency. Well worth the read, if you can stomach it.

DNF. I couldn’t follow the whos, whys or anything else. Felt like I had started a Russian novel but it went nowhere.
