The hospital chapters are dragging on… I feel the impulse to tell the characters that only 2 visitors allowed in the room, if you’re nice I’ll allow more, but no eating full on catered meals in the patients room…. Geez

I'm having a hard time finishing this book even though I am so close. I get that this is the first book in the series, and maybe the author's first books? But the world building is just not building, 300 pages in he is still throwing random made-up words that mean nothing and completely irrelevant to the story.... idk, the language just feels very stiff and the plot is wobbly.

the climax conflict moment between vanessa and joan was so cinematic i'm bumping up half a star to whatever my final rating is

somebody commented "not for me but katy perry would love this" and that's about all you need to know hahahah

so far, okay read, i do not feel as drawn into it as her carrie soto book did to me, so that was a little disappointing
