Halfway into Medieval Philosophy. Interesting times.

Loving reading through this for the first time.

"Young men, be not deceived. Think not you can, at will, serve lusts and pleasures in your beginning, and then go and serve God with ease at your latter end." Truth.

I may or may not be biased, but when I read the first edition of this book I did so in just about one sitting. Now that it's published I'm going through again and reading it to my children...who might be too young to grasp the storyline but it gives me a good excuse to read it again!

Mansoul has been liberated by Immanuel. Diabolonians such as Mr. Atheism, Mr. Forget-good, Mr. Haughty and others are tried and executed. One, however, Mr. Incredulity escapes.

When "Diabolus" attempts to appease Immanuel by promises of reformation, he is answered "if righteousness be such a beauty-spot in thine eyes now, how is it that wickedness was so closely stuck to by thee before?"

Enjoying Lewis' imagery and imagination.

What would the Wesley-Whitefield feud look like if they both ran blogs?

Fascinating descriptions of Whitefield's early life and his rise to "celebrity" status.

Also a good look into the relationship and split of Whitefield and the Wesley's. While some of Whitefield's views on the Holy Spirit would raise an eyebrow, John Wesley seemed to go further into charismatic practice even before his official embrace of Arminians theology.

Nice to be back in the book after a month of business.

"...it is at least possible that something in God's revelation might appear contradictory according to all the best current logical systems, and yet be quite consistent in terms of the ultimate nature of logical truth."

Finished an excellent chapter on Gods righteousness and holiness. The author does an excellent job showing the link between Gods goodness and love with His jealousy, hatred and wrath.
