excited & in the mood to read but nothing feels quite right ugh

samuel my goat

this is fucking phenomenal. the naming scene had me on my ass the entire time

I am this close to DNFing this book for 2 reasons:
-audiobook formats are not made for me, no matter how hard I try
- “feminist” myth retellings really fall short of what they set out to do, and this is no exception. What exactly is added to the story here aside from being told (in pretty, captivating prose, to be fair) from Ariadne’s perspective? What is feminist about it? Is anything being added to the story?

struggling to continue w this one for two reasons:
- i am confirming audiobook formats are not for me
- modern myth retellings are not my thing (i will go more in depth abt this for my review)

i wish i could see a live performance of this play rn
