I had forgotten that the so-called friendship with Harriet was finished by the end of the book. Very snobby ideas of class--No wonder this is always rewritten for the adaptations!

This Jane Austen July is officially a failure. On to Austen August, I guess.

Finished the play. I still feel I don't appreciate the histories properly. Let's see if the introduction helps.

I'm going to keep listening, but this audiobook makes the main character sound more Latin American than Spanish ("cojenito"? really? Where in Spain would a woman call her partner that???). I can't believe the author is Spanish!

Ah! Forgot: the opium dream is the most interesting part.

Enjoyed the book, but the narrator is too slow and meandering, and kept omitting crucial information. I can't see myself rereading this one ever again.
Let's see if the introduction helps me to understand the point of the book, at least.
