Two things strike me as so real.
1) These are the realest Jewish characters I have ever read. Maybe someone actually Jewish will feel differently, but these remind me of the doctors my grandmother and aunt worked with, and of my college roommate from Chicago. Judaism is important in their lives, but it’s not the entirety.
2) The depiction of crippling anxiety. It’s so frighteningly accurate.
