This is going charmingly well even if the main storyline has yet to kick in

Re-reading this again as the wifey has discovered this series and once again I am so impressed by this series - the real story starts only at around 50% but whatever went before that is also so damn compelling and well written

Dino-humans with a side of cannibalism!!!! Heck yeah

The narrative approach is elevating this book for sure - intrigued to see where this is gonna go

This creepy horror inherent in the series is out in full swing!!!!!

Day 3 was a weird beast - full of decisive action moments but lacking the story progression teased in Day 2

Done with Day 2 - boy, Sanderson ups the complexity of the series at this juncture!!!!!

I like this 10 day structure - it builds that sense of explosive urgency. Grant Morrison's 18 days was like this done for the Mahabharata and I can only applaud this storytelling style.

Day 1 done - was all about Reset, Reconcile & React......

And we are back to the assassination again for the 5th time.....

Let the Sandersonvalanche begin!!!!! (or maybe not yet)

Things do seem super bleak even as the story kind of goes about in unexpected directions....

Reading this for the first time & yet, each time I love the opening scene that is same across all the 4 books playing out from an unexpected character's POV

And so begins the great re-read.....

This book is quite a puzzle - zagging away when you expect it to zig

"Now I have a Machine Gun Ho Ho Ho" moment has been reached

Squeals in excitement, cracks knuckles and opens up this most anticipated ARC......

I already love how the ante is upped almost immediately

Such a fabulous re-read. No matter how many times I get back to it, it reads so wonderfully well. Butcher really makes Tavi super relatable. He also seeds in so much stuff, all of which are now super obvious on the re-read

For a book seemingly belonging to the Jurassic Park themed thriller, its rather sly in the number of digs it takes on JP

Rather engrossing ARC so far

You know the adage - you die a hero or live long enough to become the villain - this book really hammers down on that point. Each character showcased started off as a hero and then once in power, becomes the villain/ dictator. Absolutely riveting read

This series is brilliantly scary, creepy and wonderous - newer threats now on a new part of Donovan

Quite the start to the book - so far its been very different. At this point, I am getting the feel that the book is going to shift directions - from a ruminative meditative to revenge and redemption.....

No Ryx, don’t do this - don’t you read other books - if it’s too good to be true, it’s a ploy!!!!! (Honestly, torn between storytelling conflict imperatives vs avoiding pain for lead characters)
