Slow progress, but I have learned more about the Moors in Spain in the first 25 pages than in the hundreds of pages of research I have read on the Reconquest. Why? Arab sources rather than Spanish sources. A stunning historical gem in the context of the history of Islam.

Fun read. Different from most of the fantasy books I have read. I am enjoying dissecting the mechanics of the plot as all the gears slowly engage. Unfortunately, I am reading many books and my progress with this book is not as fast I would like!
