Why are there soooo many superfluous details about the most boring bits of these people's lives? Unnecessary. Give me more Marcellus.

I really want to like this book - and I love Marcellus. Can we have more him, and less of Cameron the man-child who is dodging personal accountability with incredible skill?

Re-reading, because...it's so good.

I'm concerned by how long this is, and we're still in the beginning of P&P. So far it's just Woe Is Mary, For She is Ugly and Depressed. And everyone else is a jerk.

Apparently I'm just reading a variety of takes on Howl's Moving Castle; instead of Sophie, we have Agnes, and instead of enchanted hats, we have enchanted cats.

Reminds me a bit of Howls Moving Castle, with cats. In a delightful way.

Really struggling to find motive for these characters' actions.

My gosh, if I hear the term "not so clever fox" one more time it'll be too soon (and I suspect too soon will be like one page from now). I didn't think it was possible to beat anything to death this much. We get it. WE GET IT. I'm going to finish the book, but.

I like the premise (like a folkloric HMC), am mostly enjoying it, but the repetitive and ridiculous endearment used by the Leszy makes me want to scream a little.

- I'm deceased. Seconds after pondering her Perfectly Sensible Marriage she conveniently meets the man of her dreams--who makes her VEINS GLOW. Better than sparks, y'all. He's "painfully handsome"; I bet her betrothed we've already forgotten about doesn't hurt to look at.
- Also it's common knowledge we don't hunt snow stags, but Aurora is not common is she? Because she seemed bamboozled by this info.

"An enormous white stag dashed out of the woods behind her and started running"...as implied by the dashing, I would think. Our FMC is out meandering through the woods thinking about what a shame it is to shoot this white stag (she's all "oh no I shouldn't" then immediately tries multiple times to shoot it). Girl, how you carrying that giant animal outta the woods on your wedding day if you manage this?!!

Ok, but what is the Frost? Is it magical? Is it just...cold?

I hope we're wrapping up the old he killed/she killed section. (I know, I know, it's the story).

4% in is nothing, but this already strikes me as a literal reason you should not judge a book by its cover. It is beautiful on the outside, and I'm already zoning out on the inside. I think it has an interesting premise, love the fairy tale vibes and what I presume (but don't know because I may never make it far enough to meet him) is a Howl-type up in the castle. But kind of juvenile from the get-go.
