Pleasantly surprised by how funny this is

Here we go again it’s time for the yearly nostalgia trip

This is addicting, a page turner. The world building is so good I wish the sequel was out already

I’ve read like 230ish books this year and this has to be top five so far

Easily one of the best books of 2026, the author understands giving you just enough info to keep you hooked. Stopping here for now only because I need to eat but I’m tempted to take the book to lunch with me. It’s just that good

Basically if Powerless was written by someone actually good

I had no idea picking up this Elden Ring Marika the Eternal looking cover that I was in for sci-fi that asks the question “what if Covid gave you super powers?”

A peak example of no plot just vibes. Half the time I can’t tell what the hell is going on because events just happen with no proceeding textual build up, but the vibes are immaculate. This book really said, but what if Griffith/Vampire Hunter D/Alucard was a romantasy love interest? I’m nodding right along with it, the silver hair weakness got me bad

Someone really likes Roman myths huh? All jokes aside, I’m really liking this one it’s definitely worth a pick up if you have Kindle Unlimited and you’re in the mood for something spooky and magical it reminds me of One Dark Window

The Shadow Bringer is exactly my type of villain with the silver hair and the Dark Souls looking armor, lord help me go google the fanart for this book

Any time the pacing improves we must do 50 more pages of world building flair

About 150 pages already could’ve been trimmed down from this, it’s really suffering from middle book syndrome waffling without getting to the point

I understand now why everybody has recommended this book to me over the years the romance reminds me of the elder scrolls

The audiobook elevates this one to truly wonderful heights. Ever read the book before but the narrator is just so excellent it makes it so much funnier. I’ve had quite a few chuckles even though I’m familiar with the story already.

if you like Ridley Scott's Prometheus and Alien, this is basically that in book form with a sprinkling of Christopher Ruocchio's Suneater. The blurb comparing it to Red Rising is just doing it because Red Rising is popular on the booktok.

Sun Eater fans come and get it this is the good stuff

Very early in and getting Malazan and/or Suneater vibes rather than Red Rising, but tbh that's a good thing

YA is usually hit or miss for me, but this one really works so far

Oops read more than 100 pages in one go. This is delightful
