The magic system in here is really truly enchanting stuff, I adore the way this author talks about flowers and fruits. Shen Tao's really gifted at conjuring beautiful imagery

Really loving this one so far, it has a very realized heavily Chinese inspired fantasy world that feels very familiar as a Chinese speaker. For a debut, this is especially well done, her prose is lovely, and many chapters begin with a short poem. The main character's name is Wei Yin, but I'll be struggling to not conjure memories of Lan Zhan saying "WEI YING!" with that exasperated look on his face.
