Working full time my reading time is usually confined to commute time, to and from work however, over the past year with a pandemic in full swing and working from home the norm (my mortgage is so very grateful I am able to work from home and I am so very grateful that my employer has the resources and flexibility to make it happen). Lack of commute also means lack of reading time... time to get back on the horse.

I was introduced to this story was the movie featuring Jim Caviezel, Guy Pierce and a young Henry Cavill. I loved that film but to say it was loosely based on the novel is an understatement. I still love the story as originally presented in the book but but struggled to read it. Too long, drawn out and wordy. Took me months to finish I and often found myself critiquing how it could be more concise.
