The part I am currently listening to (Grant's two terms as president) are less interesting than the Civil War part, but I am learning lots of American History - never my favorite part of history, but of course, I like it more as I learn more.

This has certainly whetted my appetite for knowing more about the Civil War. I feel as if I know many of the important people in Grant's life - the extensive quotes from letters and memoirs gives great insight.

At 48 hours, I'm thrilled to be 20% of the way through Grant. I have never been particularly interested in the Civil War, but heard great things about this biography and Chernow, so thought I would give it a try.

I'm now wondering if we could go tour some Civil War battle sites.

Have completed my reread of Fairacre. Next year I will visit thrush Green. Happy to have added two books to my collection during this trip to Victoria.
