I am not even 100 pages in and I know who the main male love interest is, his connection to her, and I have audibly said oh brother out loud at least 3 times. And I purchased this book💔

Starting this book based on a Mary Mahan review 🤭

I am giggling and kicking my feet at every single thing Rhett does. We obviously are having some miscommunication happening.. repeatedly and that is getting to be kind of annoying but I can excuse it bc every time Rhett and Georgia interact 🤭🤭🥰🥰

A few predictable plot twists, but tbh I am eating this up. Loving the main character (mostly I feel like she does a lot of wallowing but I think we are moving forward now? ) and most of the other characters! I’m not saying I’m still hoping for a Vampire Diaries-esque love triangle at this point but a girl can dream.

I might just be evil but I hate a MMC narration on a romance book. What could a man have to say that is more interesting than a woman’s POV? Especially after watching fleabag, I’m not liking this priest. Also… I HATE self-proclaimed male feminists. They are always not so feminist as they say.

I think I’m mean to be rooting for George over Cecil since Cecil is so obviously symbolic of society’s expectations on Lucy but damn.. give George more screen time!

Oh to read the Handmaids Tale in 2025 after watching a slew of political leaders tell young women that their place is in the home and with children… I’m loving this book. I’m mad at it but..

I’m liking it! I definitely feel like I’ve read this plot before or at least something extremely familiar, but the characters are likable and the writing is well done.

Very much enjoying this read, especially a being able to make current connections in this political climate.

Julia Quinn is my hero.

Genuinely… I am trying not to DNF. The writing style is almost making a caricature of the whodunnit— in a bad way. It’s so cheesy and hard to stomach.

The tone of this book is so curious? It’s almost emotionless and methodical? Perhaps it’s that way because of the plot circumstances but it almost makes the narrator sound detached and I’m not overly sure that is true for the story?

The beginning part of this book felt like the word choice was the focus rather than the storytelling. It was hard to read. Now the book has found a nice rhythm. Enjoying it so far.

The drama?! The twists and turns?! The men who are pissing me off?! Pure cinema.

Loving it so far— it’s been a moment since I read A River Enchanted but RR does a great job of recapturing the reader and keeping the story moving
