Covenant is such an alien concept to the hyper-individualistic, self-obsessed and faithless West. However for Christians, it is the mode by which we have been united with God, it is the assurance of His eternal faithfulness to us, his people… the insights Intrater makes are simplistic on one level, but profoundly provocative and life-changing on another. Such a well-presented, in-depth book on covenant!

Underlining quite a lot; yesterday's short read led me to filling up with encouragement from the Psalms. So encouraging, and thought-provoking.

What riches! Reading this was almost as good as sitting at the feet of a wise man, soaking in affirming, challenging and fearlessly cutting-to-the-heart truth. What is the soul? How do we care for it and why? What is the quiet yet monumentally transformative life we can begin to live when a cared-for soul is at peace within us?
