I thought this book was gonna be about all boys private boarding school, but turns out it's about social revolution like the movie snowpiercer, except instead of train cars, it's districts in a country, but turns out it's about families where each generation inherits secrets, shame, guilt, etc. and the only way to break the cycle is to let it all out and integrate the aftermath, and turns out it's all about love and-

Do people really think his writing style is plain? I was letting out sensible chuckles on every other sentence. I do find dry wit funny more so than overt attempts at comedy, so that could be that. I genuinely have no experience with Greene's other novels — I would not have read this if not for the fact that Past Me had added this book to my 'To Read' list.
