Essere tentati di mollare un libro a meno di 20 pagine dalla fine deve essere un nuovo record 🙄

„Avessero pur suonato le trombe, si fossero pure udite canzoni di guerra, dal nord fossero pure giunti inquietanti messaggi, se era solo questo Drogo sarebbe ugualmente partito; ma c’era già in lui il torpore delle abitudini, la vanità militare, l’amore domestico per le quotidiane mura.”
Credo di non aver mai letto un libro dalla morale più esplicita... e fin dalla prima pagina!

1. It took forever for anything to start happening, but now I’m hooked.
2. I hope this doesn’t turn into a The Truman Show scenario, that would be not at all original, and the hype promised a unique story. Please be it.

Pensavo che ritentare un approccio a Calvino col doppio degli anni sul groppone rispetto a quando lessi la trilogia mi avrebbe aiutato... alla fine della prima parte posso serenamente dire che la mia reazione è la stessa di allora e cioè “che avrà voluto dire??”

Are we supposed to take this as a sign they’re “meant to be”? The power imbalance is real, and all this is unhealthy. I’m very curious about the author’s intentions here...
