Jonathan Echevarria is finished with Swan Song
Having fun returning to this book. Don’t like the religious overtones. But I do love the attention to detail with the horror setting

This is one of the better books in the series. I have some complaints but I’ll save that for my full review.

It is a entertaining read so far. A little hard to get into at first. I kind of was bored until the story picked up and now I am invested in the plot.

I am enjoying this book a little better then the first one. I like the idea of Odd facing off against this particular antagonist. Someone with these kind of beliefs makes a interesting adversary. I have been hoping for more supernatural elements and this is a happy middle ground for me.

I am not loving this book as much as I did the other crossovers he has done with other authors. His work on Clickers for example was so much more fun and had better lead characters. One of my major problems is the lead protagonist is such a douche bag. Ha ha ha.

Wow. That one scene with the mother and the tent is probably forever burned in my memory. It was probably the most horrifying thing I ever read in a fictional book. I actually murmured "oh no" out loud when I read that part. I've never done that for a book I was invested in before. Some of the things that happen in this novel make the Walking Dead look like a walk in the park.

I am so thankful to fall back into reading. Didn't realize how much I missed it. It's been a long time since I couldn't put down a book. Joe Hill is a great author and I love his work so much. I didn't think I would get through this one as fast as I did.

The Witching Tree is a great supernatural story that puts our hero Levi Stoltzfus through a spiritual meat grinder. I really enjoyed seeing how far this character has come since his first appearance in Ghost Walk. I can't wait to read Invisible Monsters when it comes out later this year.

So far this is a great book. I really think Levi Stoltzfus is a awesome character. He really does carry the book on his own and I want to learn more about him.

Enjoying this book so far. It's a over view of the highlights of what Brian Keene went through as a author, a husband and a friend. Some parts are dark and sad, but it is true to how real life can be for all of us. I am honored to see how certain events shaped this man and to know how difficult it is to be a writer and earn your keep. It is definitely a enlightening read.

This is a very interesting read. I liked his original Labyrinth mythos that are introduced here. It is cool to see that they are drastically different from what they are now. I also liked the ScyFy channel pitches for the Neanderthal Zombies.

Not sure if I am going to finish this book this year. It's a great book but it really does drag in some parts. Might be taking a small break from it. I will definitely come back to it though.

This is a fun read. The setting is genuinely creepy and vividly detailed. You can almost imagine the boiling heat steaming from the ground. I haven't imagined a world this horrible to live in since Earthworm Gods. The only nitpick is the overabundance of descriptive sex scenes that aren't really needed or necessary to drive the plot forward. Besides that I am having fun on this apocalyptic ride of blazing fire!

Good book so far. Definitely one of the more mature PA books I have read. Some of it is dark and mysterious. The Grey men are creepy and I am curious about them. The gore is a little over board for my personal taste. Thankfully the characters are enjoyable for the most part!

I am really glad the bandit lord "Grudge" played a bigger role in this volume. I just wish the series continued to take more of a horror tone rather then the science fiction tone it has now. Still I have to respect the author for not falling into the same mature aspects most Post Apocalyptic series fall into. Definitely stands out as a unique series amongst a large flood of similar PA titles.

This book is really good. I love the evil bandit gang lords especially the one called Grudge. It reminds me of the different gangs in Fallout New Vegas. If you liked those Fallout games, I really think you would like this series a lot.

I'm enjoying the darker tone of this series so far. The science fiction elements are very nice. I love the ever growing cast, as the inhabitants of this world are fleshed out in more detail. I enjoy learning about the different factions that exist within this universe. So far this book is a step up from the last one.

I have a soft spot for the story because it strikes all the right chords with me. It's a post apocalyptic tale, it has a rich well established world filled with lots of bizarre locations and dangerous bandits. The only thing that is off about this book is the dialogue and some of the YA elements. I think a story like this would of been more effective as a grim mature tale.

Although I did notice some inconsistency with the plot, I was never bothered by it and was able to overlook it because the story was so engaging. I like the characters, the environment, and the overall set up of this book. My only hope is that this series gets turned into a video game some day. =)

This is a really enjoyable sequel full of non stop action. The main character Alex is fun and starting to grow on me. This apocalyptic wasteland ruled by infected alien creatures is a nice twist to the genre.

The first book is a excellent set up to what looks like a very promising series. I'm invested in the main character, especially since the plot reminds me of my favorite video game series: Fallout.
