Last year I abandoned more novels than I finished (not including the ridiculous number of comics I read). I've set myself a simple goal this year to get back in the swing of things - one novel a month. Comics don't count, short stories don't count. One proper novel every month. Four years ago, this would've been done without a second thought. It's time to get back to that.

This is one of those rare books that I consider not a work of fiction, but a work of art. The story is average, somewhat slow, but it's the writing that's important. It's the images and the style that matter, not the content. This is a skilful writer.

My 'not reading until I finish my coursework!' almost lasted 12 hours. I even wrote a paragraph. I'm proud of me.
