A woman at the hospital offered me this book. As a Canadian author, I know of Karma Brown, although I haven't had the pleasure of reading her work. I was not at the hospital for a happy reason, and this random act of kindness by a stranger showed me that humanity still exists.

This is one of the best contemporary literature novels I've had the pleasure of reading in some time. A poignant coming-of-age story, which emotionally engages the reader by showing the heart-wrenching reality of bullying. Hirsch's gift for descriptive narrative is amazing.

This is a very unique story. Can't wait to see where it goes. Research is excellent!

This is a struggle. I'm soldiering on out of a possibly misguided sense of commitment.

I almost didn't pick this book because of the cover, which I thought was garish for a mystery-thriller. Huh, wrong again. It pulls you in right away.
