Sable really ruined it for me... All they had to do was make her come up with an actually reasonable justification.

Also, my dudes: if you don't know how to write sex scenes or romance... Don't.

the confident American woman becomes insane with power and decides to screw Ghengis Khan? Sigh.

this still feels super episodic. I'm pretty sure they're going to survive every little encounter pretty much unscathed, so I'm not concerned about what might happen.

So close to finishing! Everyone likes Ky, but who is she?

I guess maybe I'm annoyed because she probably went through all the proper developmental stages that would make her into a well-rounded adult.

Even the love-interest, bit, though... is just sort of brushed by.

RIght now it feels like Moon wanted to write about the business of space trade, and her characters are less important.

i still am not enjoying. merlin is barely a character.

also... i don't remember some of these great old character or a harp he played a lot in his youth? bit perturbed.

one of the most painful and depressing books I have ever read.

Ky does not feel like much of a person, she feels like a shell.I can't imagine how Ky feels because she rarely seems to feel anything. Remembers her training and does what it dictates. No emotional reaction to killing two people? Just the death of her friend... It would have made me far more understanding of her failing to check the pockets of those dead guys if the writing had *shown* how uneasy she felt.
