Kate McKinnon, of course, is a fantastic narrator, but the story itself a bit disappointing.

Tbh I am thankful to cw. Because of her I started reading more books by female German authors …and realized that her story and protagonist is always rather childish. And they always center their lives around a man? Like why?? Anyway I am curious how (or if) someone with so much ambition will grow as a person and author.

Enjoyed the last half of the book, especially the chapter with Omelogor, but the first half was very frustrating. For a story about women too much of it was about men.

W H Y Y Y, Zikora! This obsession for marriage is a curse!

Overall this was childish. Instead of facing her trauma, the author chose to manufacture another tragedy to which ida is ill equipped to handle. Also another knight in shining armor? Really? Sadly underwhelmed.

3.5 stars. I’m not sure if I should be happy or sad that VI hasn’t changed a bit over the years.

A bit too far fetched but fun read. I cannot quite picture Shailene and Lindsay as the two protagonists, but hopefully it will make sense on screen?

A little bit Stephen King-esque and keeps you guessing if this is a paranormal ghost story or a mystery. It’s pretty good and I enjoyed it (but the book also reminded me that Stephen really is a master storyteller. Sorry riley)

This poor woman has the shittiest friends. What a horror show.

Dnf @ the authors note at the beginning. Apparently, the afterword is a ‘re-imagining” inspired by a real session with a psychic medium, and I don’t know why you’d want to discredit your entire research and disrespect Vivien Leigh like this???

Though he has great voice Peter Dinklage is sadly miscast as Poirot.

I feel conflicted about this one. It is fascinating and readable but she is a huge mess.

I wish this was only about Marcellus the octopus and Tova, but unfortunately so much of it is about Cameron the man baby who, to me, doesn’t have any redeeming qualities. At the end, I was fed up with their obsession with family. I don’t think you can trust a guy like Cameron. Poor tova.

This book is just wild.
