This is so well-articulated that I finally have a better understanding of the religiosity that I have observed (but refrain from practicing) in our country.

The vivid descriptions and stories from real practitioners of folk religion and localized Catholicism really bring the scenes to life in my mind's eye. I recommend this to everyone, regardless of your religious belief or affiliation.

Halway through and still no murders. Also, there are so many unlikeable characters.

More than halfway through the book and the rising action has kept at a steady 30mph. If the plot moves any slower, it would have stalled to a stop.

Nick and Royan have an awfully large amount of luck. I can't count how many attempts on their life have been bungled so far. lol.

You know an author is effective in creating a scene filled with suspense when his reader palpitates because of what she's reading.

Shit is going down and getting goooood, to say the least.

A hundred pages in and I'm sold. All the characters are so sassy, which I guess should be expected from a courtroom drama.

I'm enjoying the timeline of women of various ages and various eras all engage in the timeless act of reading!
