Not his best. I'm skimming a lot.

I didn't realize this is part of a series. Unfortunately, it requires having read previous books to be able to follow, so I set it aside until I can read some of the earlier stories in the series.

I really liked this book in the beginning and probably up to about the halfway point, but the further I go the less I care for Mrs Lincoln! She was not a particularly nice person and was a profligate over-spender, mostly on herself. She was prone to angry or jealous public outbursts, I sympathize with the losses she suffered over the years, but much of the public scorn and dislike she faced was of her own doing.

May be a DNF Maybe I'll get back to it at another time and try again.

Not sure I will finish this one. Set it aside for the time being.

Loved this book! Even knowing where it was going before I had read halfway through, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip Ms. Davis took me on to get there. And so many quotable passages. She has a gift!
