Glad I found this one. Probably a five-star read.

I keep wondering why the wife is investigating rather then turning over information to the police. She is guilty of something.

Good start. I smell a rat!

25% into Beartown. It’s a slow build with a massive cast to keep track of early on, but I’m really appreciating that Backman has stayed away from the forced, 'corny' humor found in some of his other work.

It’s sitting at about 2.5 stars for me right now, but I’m betting on a strong second half. The readers I follow with the most similar tastes to mine gave this 4 or 5 stars, so I’m expecting a big payoff.

Giving Backman one more chance. He does not try to do his corny humor in this book. So far so good.

Audio book read by sci fi nerd Wil Wheaton (Wesley). I did not realize he read so many audio books - of course mostly all sci fi.

Started reading last night. Off to a fun start.

I'm starting this one in hopes of cleansing my palate after This Tender Land.

Still slow moving and depressing. Looking forward to finishing this one.

If there an evil person along the way in their journey to escape the the "school" and the Black Witch they are sure to run into them.

Relentless depressing so far. Will need a palate cleanser after this one.

Good start to this one grabbed my interest.
