Hesitating about continuing. This was a side-of-the-road find and seemed fitting as a vacation read but it is at times painfully simplistic and tone deaf (the Acknowledgments at the beginning speak of the difficulties of a white woman writing black characters. They are - along with all the other characters - awfully stereotypical and honestly boring. I give it 50 more pages before DNF.

So good so far but I misplaced the book
so have to take a break!

Ich finde die klischierten Bilder und zu detaillierten Beschriebe schwer auszuhalten. Ich gebe dem Buch noch bis Seite 100 eine Chance, dass die Handlung das kompensiert.
