This book is such a slog ... very slow.

I'll keep going to 50% but if it still hasn't picked up by then I'm DNF'ing. The writing is a bit stilted and confusing at times, as if the author's first language is something other than English (and I'm not talking about the dialogue when they're back in time).

At 10%: There is so much blather ... I think I'll take a break and read something engaging

I'm not a big fan of insta-love or relationships with huge power inequalities, so when those two things are combined ........
That aside, there are some interesting concepts and food for thought even though it's hard to get by some of the "why didn't you ask..." and "seriously? You couldn't see that there was something strange about that?" situations.

Very similar to Joshua Guess' "Living with the dead" series but nowhere near as good. Having read the reviews that say it ends with a cliff hanger, I don't know if I'll bother slogging through the rest of this book ....... I just can't seem to care enough to continue, knowing that there will be lots of unanswered questions.

I'm taking a break from this novel. it's doubtful that I'll make it to the end of this one, let alone finish the trilogy. It's starting to feel like same old, same old.

It's gradually getting better but it still hasn't got me all that interested ......... maybe I'm going through a phase
