One of the better middle grade books I've read lately, so far at least. 🤞

I was really kind of loving this book, and now I just want it to end, and I'm not sure what happened.

There is *zero* chance this book is going to have a satisfactory ending with the amount of pages left. None!

Recording this here so I can find it later if/when I want to start a fight on Facebook. Southern Baptist Convention resolution from 1998, post-Clinton/Lewinsky affair: "Tolerance of serious wrong by leaders sears the conscience of the culture, spawns unrestrained immorality and lawlessness in the society, and surely results in God's judgement."

This book is so good so far that I'm afraid to breathe too hard because what if that ruins it.

Adding Stephen to my "Fictional Characters I'd Marry" list.

I picked this up because it was in "Paperback Crush: The Totally Radical History of '80s and '90s Teen Fiction" which I recently read, and it sounded interesting. Girl is abducted and for reasons, she has a typewriter and a ream of typing paper on her at the time. So so far, so good!

This book is terrific, and it's make me incredibly angry.

Every time I read a book about the Reconstruction period, I realize all over again that I didn't learn jack about Reconstruction in school. Is this a general thing or a growing-up-in-the-south thing?

I just finished this book here at 4:57 a.m. because I had to.

Holy cow, this is really good.

500 PAGES OF WALKING THROUGH THE DARK AND RUMINATING ON LIFE SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE SOMETHING INTERESTING HAPPEN.

I'd like to protest the inclusion of #44, "Here Comes Bream!" This is NOT a reason why I love baseball. This is the reason why I skipped school and cried for two days in 1992.

The library just billed me for "losing" this book so I guess it's time to actually read it.

The good news is, the dragons finally showed up! Yay, dragons! The bad news is, so far they haven't burned all the human characters to a crisp and flown away.

I'm reading this because it's everywhere and it sounded fun, but so far I hate it on such a visceral level that it's almost crossed over into entertaining.

"Average people just give up at the obstacles we face every day. Scientists fail again and again and again. Sometimes for our whole lives. But we don't give up... They keep trying because they believe in the possible... That it's possible to create a cure for polio. That it's possible to sequence the human genome..."

I'm only 50 or so pages into this book and it's super fascinating.

This would be going a lot faster but I keep stopping to watch YouTube clips and Sesame Street and Muppet Show DVDs. Fun, interesting read so far.

Still reading. I circled this book for a while because I'd heard so many good things about it but wasn't sure how interesting LBJ would be. It's pretty awesome. Super glad I caved. (Goodreads needs a "I've read X%" for those of us using e-readers of some sort.)

I read this back when it came out. Re-reading it for school. Curious to see how it holds up now that I have some actual experience with working poor families.
