DNF at 70%… I tried really hard to finish this but I physically cannot keep going. Started off so strong but quickly I realized this was a mess. The world building was non existent. The romance made very little sense and was absolutely NOT enemies to lovers and the plot? These characters were supposed to be on a mission… only they consistently forgot about it. So disappointing.

THE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!! Sorin calling out Scarlett for pulling an *Aelin* (keeping her plans from him!) The PAIN she put him through! That scene was amazing. The inner circle telling her how much it hurt them and him STILL being by her side! 🩵 Also, I loved seeing it play out this way because while we all trusted Aelin’s secret plans it was beyond frustrating and I don’t think she got enough crap for it.

Devoured this book in 24hrs! So good! The FMC was hilarious and loved the overall vibes. I’m sad book 2 is about a different character, who I wasn’t as interested in for most of this book, but I’m going to go into it with an open mind because I loved the writing style. Only reason this book isn’t 5 stars is because the MMC said some things in a pivotal scene and I don’t feel like it was properly addressed.

Another great one by Keri! Gothic and creepy vibes were perfect for October. It was heavy on the fantasy which I struggled with a bit in the beginning, but the plot and the slow burn had me hooked. Zevander has stormed his way into my top book boyfriend list. I need more of him like now. Can’t wait to read book 2! Solid 4🌟’s
