HELP FINDING A NOVEL, PLEASE. It was a fantasy novel published in the 1990s-2000s, set in contemporary California or the West Coast, dealing with a conflict between magic users. The "good guys" were in the north region and the "bad guys" were in the south (L.A.?). The main character traveled south on a mission. One scene had a house grow wings and fly away in an emergency, traumatizing non-magic users who saw it.

I had staying with for a week or so before he moved to Virginia -- D: -- so that seriously cut into my reading. Now that he is moved, I have more time to read, which is a mixed blessing since it is previously was a long time since I had a friend I was in person. (A few of my closest friends I have never meet it person.)

who was taking stuff from my Facebook page out of context (like I had a facial photo of myself just after the surgery (because people were asking) but then has been harassing me with it claiming twisted things -- so I had to take my FB page offline for I do not know how long, which was not a fun thing.

So all that really sucked.
Then I had surgery on my head to improve my range of visions which did so right after the operation, but left my head looking like I had brain surgery so I wore a hat for 2-3 weeks because it was freaking out people.
Then I tried to meet some other guys, but that hasn't gone well.
Then I picked up a 2nd cyber-stalker (my 1st one I have had for 25 years)...

And the new computer is still sprawled out on a rug by my desk because I am waiting for a new graphics board to come. Meanwhile there is furniture that got moved that I have been able to put back into place.
I had some promising dates but those ended badly for stupid reasons by the other guys (like one Chinese-native student who insanely decided to move back to Alabama(?!) from Massachusetts(!!)).

I thought I had transfer everything to the new drive, so I then took my old drive and also installed it in the new computer and wiped it and put my movies and TV shows onto that drive (from an extra drive), but then I realized I had NOT transferred over any of my comic books and some old and personal photos as well, so I LOST all of that (which I had spent years collecting) and I was not happy.

I haven't been keeping up with posting the books I read to Goodreads, because, well, Life... and also the damn Kindle feature that is suppose to add any new title you are reading (if you press "yes") to Goodreads and it is NOT doing that.
I got a new computer over 2 months ago and lost a lot of stuff in the transfer, because I thought I had transfer everything to the new drive (which is *huge), but I did not.
