Chapter 3 lost me. It was an interesting introduction to Marxism and art, though.

I think I enjoyed it? I really loved the first half, and then the second half had me frustrated and confused. Cassandra’s brain was wonderful to be inside, until it wasn’t. 3 stars. Maybe 3.5.

Was it intentional that this book is about an Adeline who doesn’t age and there was a 2015 movie about an Adaline who doesn’t age ?

I know it’s not, but it kind of feels like Among Us fanfic.

I kind of want him to get to the point, but it’s well-researched and interesting.

Generally I’m not endeared by people who say Stevie Nicks “sounds like my grandma after smoking for a hundred years”.

Apparently this is Read-Every-YA-Fantasy-You’ve-Been-Neglecting-For-Years Week for me.

Question: do I think this would resonate more with me and/or change my perspective if I were a parent?

Answer: yes

She’s still very unhappy. What a super fun story, especially during QUARANTINE.

So far the book has consisted entirely of her complaining, so this is really fun and subtle exposition.

My brain knows what it wants to happen, but I am concerned that is not what will happen.

I remember the Deathly Hallows Part One movie being a lot of exhausting nothingness, and that’s what the first 400 pages of this book feels like too.

Romance is by far my favorite genre to critically read because it’s all nonsense. Be unendingly grateful that you’re not privy to my comments in this book because they’re truly ~insane~.
