This book makes the first book look like a sweet romcom. I think I found something I like as much as a slow burn – the slow build.

I’m enjoying this series so much -it appeals to my inner Eeyore

Sigh I know – it’s a re-read - I wish some books I could read & get credit for an anonymous book on goodreads…

I feel so bad, today I started a trans book for the read-athon this week, but this series has me in it’s grip and I just don’t feel like I could really pay attention to any other book until I finish this series. I’m just gonna quickly plow through this book and then get back to my trans book.

Seriously? Why does every lady detective mystery series end up with her as a widow!!
If they don’t bring him back by the end of this book I am so done with this series! It would be nice for a successful detective lady to actually be married too! As a widow myself I don’t want to read this! I know there can’t be a trigger warning for stuff like this but honest to God I am so tired of being hit with widows!!😖

“what could possibly go wrong?” Cue readers everywhere groaning. Despite the hero obviously tempting The fates, I am enjoying this book a lot.

OK I’m completely torn - I really like Benedict, I like how the relationship is going BUT he knows that she doesn’t want to compromise her virtue, he’s completely overwhelming her! He’s being completely selfish!.. she’s not saying no, but it’s her first taste of passion-and I know she’s gonna have buyers regret! This is so frustrating he knows better!!!

OK I am really excited so far! It’s a Cinderella retelling which I didn’t expect. Usually I am more a beauty and the beast sort of gal but this has me hooked!! 😄
