Re-read for my Banned Book Club

Not reading this particular version, but this is the closest to what I am reading. AGD Book Club pick for October. 🎃👻

I’m reading a 1930 edition of this Nancy Drew book. Found this line interesting:

“His wife had died during the influenza epidemic following the World War…”

“Textbook authors seem to believe that Americans can be loyal to their government only so long as they believe it has never done anything bad. Textbooks therefore present a U.S. government that deserves students’ allegiance, not their criticism.”

“Americans need to learn from the Wilson era, that there is a connection between racist presidential leadership and like-minded public response.”

Listening to an audiobook version & already know I will need to purchase a hard copy to reference, re-reference, and digest more slowly.

Going slow!

Reread so I will better appreciate the short stories in “The End & Other Beginnings”. And book 2.

Listening to this on audio. I think my new accidental expression will be “Damn, girl!” Everybody says it in here & the reader says it the same way every time! 🤣

This book has taken a loooong time to read. The end is in sight!

Some day I will finish this book! 😳

I have read too many books since I read book 1. Took me a while to figure out where the story left off (and which story it was continuing!)
