Frequent instances of antisemitic behaviour as well as a sexual assault early on - both looked on by the author as vaguely interesting and amusing. Describing Orwell as compassionate as the large quote on the back says, feels ridiculous. The writing itself is brilliant and conjures the stress and constant fear that poverty brings.
