I've been avoiding reading this book. I feel like I've been just trying to get through it since the halfway point. I think it's just so heavy with the caregiving. Its also hitting a little too close to home that the book isn't even enjoyable anymore. I might take another break so I can read a book that is actually light hearted. This and cherylnobol is too much

This book is amazing. It's nice to read a solid romance again. One where I know I like the authors writing and isn't about tropes just people.

Okay its been long enough. I've been romance free for 3 weeks. I'm ready to lock in and enjoy some romance again. Hopefully I like this book. Its the only one I haven't read from the series and it is the most hyped.

Needed a break from the heaviness. I'm going to take it slow so I will want to read it.

The difference between people who saw what radiation did first hand verses those who dealt with the concept is interesting. It's the difference between loosing your loved ones in horrific ways versus loosing your home and everything you've ever known because there's some thing in the air. One is right in front of you and the other feels inadequate. I wonder how it's affected those who stayed in the long run.

Finally a lighter chapter! Which means I can read more without feeling so heavy after. If this wasn't due in 12 days I could take my time. But I unfortunately have a deadline.

Wow ... Wow wow wow wow. I'm learning so much and it's all bad. First the slow death of radiation poisoning now uterine prolapse....I don't know what happened to me but this is the stuff I enjoy reading so. We are in for a wild ride.

That prologue was heavy and graphic. I think I need to read this book slowly so I don't overwhelm myself. But that poor woman.

I've only read the translators note and historical note but I am locked in! I think In Memoriam changed me because I really want to read about historical events now. Although realizing this happened in 1986 was an unpleasant surprise. I'm very intrigued and ready to learn about what happened.

Trying to read this book after finishing the romantic masterpiece that is Bridgerton season. It is actually embarrassing how bad this book seems now. Like it was cheesy before but now I can't even finish a chapter without being over it.

I'm already locked in. Although the colliding outside the meeting was a bit cheesy and weird, I can look past it as long as it doesn't happen again.

I'm so sorry but I'm bored. I'm bored and it's so hard to want to read this. They are together, in love, and happy. I want this to end. I don't want his dad to die or his family to find out or the police to get involved. I want the happily ever after. So maybe I'm also stressed about the other shoe dropping. I don't care please stop the book so I can be happy.

Another queer love story recommended by Lexi. Hopefully this one is far less painful. I definitely didn't expect him the get engaged and then unengaged with in pages. That was a pleasant surprise for sure.

The battle of Sommes was insane. I don't know whose stupid idea that was but they deserved a punishment worse than death for what they did to those boys. I don't want to deal with the switcheroo and it's time for bed but, I'm finishing this book tomorrow most likely. I'm ready!

Wow that place healed him. Physically but also mentally. I'm surprised. That is not like any of the prisoner camps I've heard of. And maybe it's because it's historical fiction or maybe we used to be kinder to one another.

Im still in denial. We can't just continue the story. Is this a book about war????? Did I misunderstand the book review....there's no way. He must have been taken captive. He saw his cousin I think. Maybe he's a prisoner. Maybe they will make him fight for Germany. There has to be more to the story. Right? RIGHT????
