A bit of a slog with my level of Tagalog. Plenty of words in this little thing that aren't even in dictionaries or Google Translate.

I'll finish this for what it's worth and get an English edition.

It's got a cool, old-fashioned vibe to it. I haven't encountered anything wonky thus far except for the weapon disarms, which are always a point of contention even in present day.

I wonder how novel this was for its time and much of this actually works under pressure.

Regrettably, I never paid attention in Filipino class, and so my grasp of Tagalog language is sorely limited; and knowledge of this literary piece which every Filipino is required to study, entirely absent.
