Eh rather predictable. Characters are quite similar to your usual tropes in fantasy world. Book is good for escapism.

Pacing is a bit rapid for a political fantasy book. If there isn’t any sex, I’m going to be disappointed.

Wait... the friend's note says that she needs a "few days" to sort things out. I'd be ticked off, yeah, but I wouldn't be frantic as the protagonist is.

I mean, describe your protagonist as anxious-dependent before you have her overreact to a bizarre situation- make this story more realistic instead of laughable.

I literally turned the page and read the name of the ruling doge: Niro de whatever.

This book is about fire magic.

Omg I hope this Niro doesn't end up threatening to burn his capital, just like Emperor Nero of Rome --> cue eye roll <--

Pretty dumb so far. Lots of loop holes and the protagonist has an obnoxious tone to her narration.

Quite a boring opening. Another "superhero" plot of all the friends dying, the protagonist is guilty about said deaths, and now protagonist is on a quest to right her wrongs.

Just skimming the pictures, I'm afraid.
