Evidently, I have had this book on my TBR list for more than 4 years! Finally picked it up and each poem is so precise, so full. I have seen some reviews that say they meander to the point and agree to disagree. They go exactly where they are meant to. I am just under halfway through and each poem is a pleasure.

Fast-paced story, BEAUTIFUL art, and a much more delicate story than I was expecting considering there are monsters and the foundation of the Arthurian story everyone knows.

Was not prepared for where this story is going. although considering Gran is right on the cover I should have known better. I love her and I'm invested, very excited to see where this goes.

I wish the story of the benders wasn't quite such a convoluted ending, but otherwise, great job.

I'm really enjoying this graphic novel compendium of murrrrdurrrrr. VR is simple mostly line drawings black and white tells the story gives a lot more background than I would have thought I was going to be getting but it is a good surprise all around. The artists and author incorporate some newspaper articles from the time which is really nice.

Going on the abandoned list. At about 30%, she mentions that her plan involves you eating only between 9 and 6.

How is that possible for most of the world?!? She must not believe working parents exist, but i can't believe because she keeps bringing up examples of how her plan solved all her patients' issues.

I am about halfway through and she has said twice that gut health causes autism so yeah we're done thanks.

Is this a joke?!? This is awful.

I saw a review earlier of this book that said something along the lines of, "reading Stephen King is like coming home." That is exactly correct. He would have gotten this lauded if he wasn't this good.

Intriguing start.

When given the choice, Jack chooses love. And the stairs. Back to the home that was never really home.

I loved this book. Picked up from a display at my library, I didn't realize it was the second in the series. I will be checking out the rest and more by the author.

Walking down the stairs into a world full of monsters and masters and opportunity, the twins begin to seek out their own very different personalities without the guidance of their parents.

After years of being apprenticed to different monsters, Jack and Jill's desires and futures come to a head. After a particularly selfish and cruel decision made by Jill, the girls are brought together to run.

While playing in their house one day, they come up on a steamer trunk that their grandmother has left. When they open it looking for dress up clothes, they find a staircase that wasn't there the last time they looked. They take the stairs hoping for adventure. I'm only 50 pages in and full on Goosebumps.

The author Seanan McGuire has been recommended to me before and now I wish I had started reading her earlier.

Jacqueline and Jillian (Jack and Jill) are a pair of twin girls who have been raised into specific roles by their very un-parental parental units. They were lucky early on in development to be cared for by a lovely, caring grandmother but now in their pre-teen age, they are questioning the roles that their mother and father have been raising them in. Are they really who everyone says they are? They're not sure.

Disney gor nothing on Eve and Roarke. My faves kicking ass together, forever.

It took me FOREVER to start this book. The format is interesting, with its jump from short story to graphic novel. I love that each 'chapter' is done by a different artist.

That last story! Whew.

What is probably my favorite thing is Joe Hill will not limit himself to a genre. In this collection, we've got time traveling bookmobiles, mad truckers bent on revenge, zombies, fairytale princesses in enchanted sleeps, nuclear war seen from 30,000 feet in the air. I love this collection.

Also, Joe has picked up his dad's talent for writing an author's note.

I LOVE Joe Hill. Even before I knew he was You-Know-Who's son, I have been impressed with his storylines. This collection is sno different. I thought "Faun" was my favorite story. A group of hunters and an artist, a fairyland empress, justice, fauns. Yes, please.

But, I am still savoring "Late Returns", a novel of library patrons and a bookmobile driver slipping in and out of time. Tears still crying on my face.
