I've decided to read no further. The only way to make sense of this book is to read it out loud. Read the italics as a shrill mother who is every child's worst nightmare, and the rest of it as if you sat in the police interrogation room and wondered what you were doing there. At my age if I read 100 pages minus my age and I'm not engaged, I usually decide to abandon the book. This time invested too much timeand eff
