Slow going coz my ability to focus and read is still pretty shot from this past year but definitely plan to finish.

Think I've said it before, but I'm just astounded at how much I relate to this and how I've addressed such themes in something I've already written and hope to in my upcoming NaNoWriMo attempt. It feels so good to relate so deeply to scholarly nonfiction again.

So much that I already relate to in just the first chapter. Hartmann was almost at the age I was when I began thinking about such matters, definitely by the time I started writing A Return. It all feels so validating.

I'm actually surprised at how much I already relate to Hartman's work and mental journey.

I've just gotten to 2027 and tbqh I don't know if I'm ready for it even tho I've already read Butler's book.

Just finished part 1 and whew!!! Plot so far is reminding me a bit of Baldwin but still very much engaged in this story and these characters. Hope I can finish this one soon.

Just started on this. For some reason, thought it was historical fiction, but it's quite contemporary. Only read first chapter so far but did peak ahead to next one and saw that there is letter writing. I love letter writing in stories. So far so good.
