Mediocre for me so far! The hero is too much of an ass and the heroine is too strident (and generally I love asshole heroes and harpy heroines). Maybe I'll come back in the New Year.

Haven't picked this up since December 13, 2018. Probably will at some point, but the characters weren't really grabbing me.

Okay I’ve forgiven the MCs for the whole p-word situation and they’re pretty adorable. I may also be under the influence of the half bottle of wine I had at dinner, but whatever. They’re cute.

The author used the word “pudenda” and I’ve lost all interest in the sexual scenes of this book. I’m going to keep reading because of a little mystery that’s unfolding AND because I like the colonel, but I could not care less about the romance. In fact, the hero should be punished for saying “pudenda” by being confined in a monastery. Oh god, I’ve written the word twice and now I want to vomit.

I am really dissatisfied with this book. The hero is a zero! He straight up ghosted his MATE for six years. He knew she was his and ditched her and had his friend run interference. I dislike the hero and I dislike his friend. I have no patience for him or interest in his love story. He’s a straight coward.

This book is really dragging for me. I'm not devouring it like I normally do. It's somehow not focusing on plot, but not really focusing on the relationships either. I feel like a donkey plodding along with it.
