Gave up 30% in! Inconsistencies, forced dialogue…another JP destruction of a tree for wasted paper.

An interesting and intriguing, but very, very long-winded true story of Sweden’s largest cash heist.

Natalie M is starting Pieces of Her (Andrea Oliver, #1)
Probably closer to 3.5 Stars as it does not have the usual pace of a Slaughter read. It does build and become the thriller you expect but it takes a little while to capture and engross you in the plot.

Natalie M is starting Clock Dance
This is one of those novels where you’ll remember the title but will have to go back to the blurb to recall the story. If you’re an Anne Tyler fan you’ll relate to her ability to transform everyday life into words. The are no seismic events, the female characters are likeable in a slightly quirky way (males not so much) and the plot borders on mundane. However it is an enjoyable, likeable read.

There is nothing like a fantastic Nora Roberts. Despite the story being predictable there are still plenty of surprises and awesome characters.

Natalie M is starting The Cutting Edge (Lincoln Rhyme, #14)
I wish I didn’t even have to rate this one as I love the Lincoln Rhymes/Amelia Sachs series by Deaver. It felt disjointed, unnecessarily convoluted & unbelievable. Maybe it was just bad timing for me but the some of my favourite elements were missing in The Cutting Edge: fluency of plot, development of characters & intriguing twists.

5 stars for sheer chick-lit enjoyment! I honestly feel as if I’m leaving a few of my own friends behind as I put this one down. This is 100% a read of women-scorned, revenge as a dish served the best way you can come up with & all it had me smiling, laughing, cringing & wanting more. Jane Fallon manages to take you on Amy’s journey like on a British novelist could do! Just what I needed to read!

Fairly disappointing! This one read as though a novice had written it, with limited character development, weak vocab & predictable ending.

A beautifully constructed YA novel. The characters are believable, honest, and the issues they face are realistic. It was very easy to become engrossed with the trauma & dilemmas each person was experiencing. Pertinent, tragic & beautiful- a lovely read.

Natalie M is starting The One Who Got Away
I have waited to write this review as I really enjoy this author but really did not enjoy this book. The characters were shallow & irritating, the plot needed a good editor & even days later I’m still trying to find a theme/moral/PIV of value. If it was meant to stereotype a shallow LA lifestyle/media centric story it did this well but not much else! It’s not a book you’ll remember reading!

The only thing better than discovering an unread Liane Moriarity would be finding two! She has the unique ability to transport you into the life of her characters & you feel such a close part of their family. This hilarious read about triplets & the very real issues life throws at at them (& us) was just excellent! A very enjoyable read! Eagerly awaiting another Moriarity novel!

Natalie M is starting Breath
Breathe begins strongly but finds itself in a lull midway. Unfortunately the pace & intensity don’t return & I found myself wishing this novel over, well before the end! This is one instance where the soon to be released film may actually be better than the read. It felt as if I was waiting for the perfect wave to come along but sadly it just didn’t eventuate.

Incredible espionage-thriller. Highly intricate, well woven and believable plot. The research & depth of knowledge the author has applied to this tale is a masterpiece within itself. Fantastic read!

4.5 stars. Outstanding debut novel by this British author! Psychological thriller with so many unseen twists you’ll be shocked by each one. Protagonist Morgan will grow on you & there is definitely potential for her to become more likeable as the series develops. Well-worth the read.
