About sums up Nora Ephron's 4 hour whine that is this book. My gosh. The more you have, the less satisfied you are, I guess.

Like what is this bullshit
"I draw my knife and slice a generous cut across each of my palms, trailing the last man inside." You have one palm. Your left arm is gone. What the fuck.

I am so beyond irritated that the main character who lost his left arm repeatedly both makes mention of not having that arm, and how he "clenches his fists" and does all kinds of stuff that a one-armed person could not do (such as use a knife to prick his fingers) & then, he's checking out some weapons and it specifically states that he is holding one in his right hand & picks up a second in his left. COME ON. SLOPPY

This is fucking tedious so far

Maybe hearing about a mad king drunk on power whom everyone surrounding him expended tons of energy propping up emotionally and catering to his every whim and helping him feel godlike, and women are just political tools to be used and discarded is....a difficult ask in this political moment in the US. I'm having some trouble enjoying this, it was supposed to be a light read/fun romp. =(
