This is a slow listen as I keep pausing to make notes. "We are vulnerable to our new technologies in ways we did not anticipate. We sense that new social rules allow us to check our phones almost all the time. But, we also sense on some human level, these new rules don't feel right." I keep finding myself nodding in agreement with much of what Turkle writes in this book.

I have seven pages of notes so far, just from the first quarter of this book. Sherry Turkle has some great things to say about how technology has impacted all of us...kids to adults...in our ability to carry on a conversation. She's made me pay more attention and take stock of how I interact with and use my devices.

I’ve decided I’m not going to include audiobooks in my book count. It feels to me a little like cheating. However, if you choose to count audiobooks, that’s great. No judgment from me.

Pg 38, there is a sentence that I can only assume is a typo based on the section it is in…about God’s justice. The author writes, “There is no impartiality in him, he is perfectly just.” I believe that should say “there is no **partiality**…which is what Scripture says.

“A person with a skewed appetite (or no appetite) is a person whose body is unwell. The same goes for your soul.” (Page 2)
“I thought that by opening my Bible I was seeking something good and right to do, rather than primarily seeking someone to love.” (Page 31)

An excellent book on how to grow your desire to read the Bible. That second quote spoke directly to my to-do-list loving self
