A book in which an ivory tower academic critiques ideas as being wrong for relatively precise reasons and then says “well maybe they should have used Good Ideas and gotten rid of Bad Ideas.”

Ancient society facing famine? Why didn’t they have a good idea, with Knowledge? Decades of quantum physicists describe their results as difficult to reconcile with common sense? Woah dumbasses, should found Knowledge.

The author is insufferably full of himself believing himself to be right about everything, which is ironic given how much of the book is about the possibility that our current beliefs are wrong. Not giving up yet.
